'Sit pax advenientibus' – peace be to those who arrive
We welcome our guests in the spirit of this Christian greeting. The Obermarchtal monastery is located in the Obermarchtal district between Ehingen and Riedlingen, to the east of Zwiefalten in the Alb-Donau district. It can claim to be the only self-contained, perfect and completely preserved baroque monastery in Upper Swabia.
This former premonstratensian abbey in Obermarchtal stands in ancient monastery grounds in the exceptional countryside of Upper Swabia. Its position in the triangle between the towns of Ulm, Reutlingen and Biberach makes it easily accessible.
The Obermarchtal monastery has 56 comfortable bedrooms with practical furnishings – a total of 105 beds spread over three buildings. There are 9 conference rooms for conferences and events, all with natural light and equipped with the latest conference technology.
Our rooms combine contemporary facilities and furnishings with the historic ambience of a baroque monastery.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in our cosy dining hall. Our team of chefs provide a gastronomic treat for our guests with their good home-cooked Swabian dishes based on old monastery recipes.
Surrounded by the walls of the monastery, conference participants, business travellers and people taking a short break will find themselves in a perfect place for new experiences and wonderful relaxation.
You can be sure of a relaxed stay in the Swabian Alb.
We are proud to continue the monastic tradition of hospitality, and to invite you most warmly to come and stay with us in this historic ambience.
